Lake Talquin State Forest

Lake Talquin State Forest is located just west of Tallahassee, Florida. The forest hosts two bodies of Florida waters, the Ochlockonee River and Lake Talquin. Lake Talquin State Forest is lush with wildlife and greenery, having many different forest cover types.

The Florida Forest Service manages Lake Talquin State Forest using a multiple-use concept that allows for nature to be balanced with recreation and focuses on reforestation and ecosystem restoration. The Lake Talquin State Forest offers many recreational activities, such as hiking, fishing, and horseback riding, for all ages to enjoy.   

To educate the public on sustainable forest management and outdoor recreation opportunities, Lake Talquin State Forest designed and built several interpretive displays to share information. Forest Service and Lake Talquin employees worked together to design interpretive panels and build the kiosks. However, the challenge would be finding a material for the panels to sustain the Florida sun and humidity. iZone Imaging’s Custom High Pressure Laminate was ideal for the job because the material is impervious to moisture and thermally stable.
