Case Study |
Nestled along the picturesque Highway 100 in Laguna Vista, a mere 8 miles west of South Padre Island, Texas, the South Texas Ecotourism Center (STEC) sprawls across 10 acres of pristine land. Here, STEC meticulously recreates five distinct sub-regions of the lower Rio Grande Valley, offering visitors an immersive journey through the region's rich tapestry of native flora and fauna.
At the heart of STEC's immersive experience are interpretive displays, designed and fabricated by Scott Clarke of Clarke Design. Renowned for their unrivaled CHPL (Custom High Pressure Laminate) technology, iZone Imaging was the natural choice for this ambitious project. Scott Varro, a driving force behind STEC, eloquently expressed the significance of this partnership, stating, “We have used iZone HPL since 2006 and it has never underperformed. With the complexity of the project, it would have been brutal if we had not worked with iZone. Their willingness to work with us and the extremely streamlined process for production allowed us to have peace of mind.”
Special recognition is also due to Clarke Design, the Project Lead responsible for planning, exhibit design, engineering, fabrication, and installation. Their expertise and dedication were instrumental in bringing STEC to life, ensuring a seamless and captivating experience for all visitors. Additionally, heartfelt gratitude extends to the Cameron County staff for their invaluable support and collaboration throughout the project.
STEC stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of passionate individuals and innovative companies like iZone Imaging and Clarke Design. By seamlessly blending technology, artistry, and environmental stewardship, STEC celebrates the unique beauty and biodiversity of the Rio Grande Valley, leaving an indelible mark on all who venture through its gates.
