Academy of the Sacred Heart

The Academy of the Sacred Heart is an all-girls, independent, Catholic school in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded in 1867, it is located in the Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans and is part of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools, an international organization with more than 150+ schools worldwide.

The Academy of the Sacred Heart recently completed a major renovation to its Mater Campus. The Mater Campus has educational space for children from age one through fourth grade. This project included the addition and renovation of the entrance, new courtyard space, seating areas, vestibule, and the Bob and Jeri Nims Fine Arts Center. ASI – New Orleans was brought on the design team early to discuss branding opportunities. The designers at Gould Evans proposed an intricate History Wall that highlighted the presence of the Sacred Heart network around the world.

This unique project includes pull out HPL panels incorporated into millwork that invite students and visitors to interact with and  learn about the global network of schools and religious institutions. The map to the right of the millwork serves as a legend showing each Sacred Heart location around the world. ASI – New Orleans remained in close contact with the other contractors to coordinate the design, fabrication, and installation of the system.

“Because of the mobility of the panels and the young age group handling them, we knew that quality and durability were of utmost importance. We knew iZone was right for the job and their team is extremely timely with estimating and delivery.”
