Hudson River Valley Greenway is a unique organization tasked with preserving the cultural, scenic, and recreational resources of New York. In 2017, the organization began work on the Empire State Trail. This outdoor trail spans 750 miles from New York City through the Erie Canal and up to the Adirondacks. The goal of this project was to unite the state of New York, from urban to rural, through the state’s history and landscapes.
The Empire State Trail was completed in December of 2020 with 350 miles of new trail. Trail additions and renovations totaled 58 projects, costing more than $200 million. The additions and renovations include new signage and improvements on 80 miles of the existing trail. In all, the State of New York estimates 8.6 million people will enjoy the Empire State Trail yearly. The trail welcomes bicyclists and walkers of all ages and abilities to encourage a healthy lifestyle and build a supportive community.
In collaboration with the Hudson River Valley Greenway, iZone helped create signage throughout the Empire State Trail. iZone’s Custom High Pressure Laminate has the durability to withstand the outdoors and will be enjoyed along the trail for many years to come.
