ECHO – Energy Commons

ECHO is a science and nature museum on the Burlington waterfront. The Energy Commons outdoor exhibit is a collection of outdoor spaces around ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, that includes solar canopies, rain gardens, science exhibits, art sculptures, and outdoor seating. The spaces around the museum invite people to explore our past, present, and future relationship to energy through interactive experiences and social connection. It is a Lake Champlain waterfront destination and a means for improving a neighborhood, city, and region. More than an outdoor exhibit, it is also a public space that strengthens the connection between people, place, and our shared energy future.

The team at ECHO wanted to formalize the outdoor spaces with high-quality interpretive signs that describe various aspects of the energy cycles found throughout Lake Champlain. The team chose iZone’s High Pressure Laminate because of its resilience to moisture, extreme durability, ease of maintenance, and 10- year warranty, ensuring enjoyment of the park for residents and visitors for many years to come.
